Any ideas on how to raise the height of the inner Bi-Xenon/LED 'High Beam' light on a Golf 7.5? The rest of the lights work fine. Dipped headlights are easy to position etc, and the main beam function of that outside light works fine. Just my Right had side inner High Beam light point pretty much straight down. Tuesday 24th November 2015. Our A6 is with a local garage having some new shocks, springs, anti roll bars and a service carried out. They've reported the work has been done but the full beams aren For starters, HIDs have a much longer lifespan than halogen bulbs. By most accounts, HID headlights last at least 2,000 hours, and in some cases, they can last as long as 8,000 hours. Compared to the 1,000-hour peak life of halogens, HIDs keep lighting and lighting — to paraphrase a famous battery tagline.
15 years or so ago I opted for bi-xenon headlights and that caused me to be flashed over and over again whilst on low beam. So my take is that it takes a while to get used to for those using it (a
The standard high beam is the low beam HID light that has a metal shutter that rotates out of the way to allow for full light. (This is for bi-xenon headlamps). The halogen high beam is only used for flashing by pulling the steering column mounted stalk toward you. It sounds like the new xenon bulb you installed is not working. Check the

Now to the high beams. First, e-code: and the bi-xenon high beams: The e-code high beams seem dim but the range is good, much better than the DOT high beams. The slightly yellower tinge in the middle of the xenon high beam pattern is from the H7 halogen high beams which supplement the bi-xenon highs. Now to the freshly fallen snow, starting

If the vehicle is equipped with optional adaptive headlights, the bi-xenon headlight is equipped with an electrically activated shutter that directs the low beam cone of light in the same direction as the high beam. Bi-xenon headlights are also equipped with an adaptive headlight control system, which uses stepper motors to rotate the
TheXC30 said: lookout for a C30 bi-xenon headlamp and the lowest I've seen a complete unit go for is $400. The OP started the thread with his "low beam" was out. So I'm not sure if he has bi -xenons or not. As we all know in a bi-xenon the low beam is the high beam also, just projected further down the road. . The HID low beam on my driver side has stopped working and the car is displaying the dipped beam failure and indicator light. I replaced the bulb and swapped the ignitor and such from a working light with no luck. I then swapped the entire headlight assembly with a working one also with no luck.
Get educated on your headlight operation. Turn signal stock pushed forward is bixenon high beams via the shutter. Turn signal stock pulled back is flash-to-pass halogen (inner) high beams. Need to “divide and conquer” to isolate the failed part (s), then fix/replace. I could not tell by the last statement in #2 which part is defective.
The high beam *IS* the Xenon lower beam, with a mirror/flap that changes the focal elements in the projector housing. There are no halogen high beams. To the OP; sorry, but my 335d's high beams are excellent; better than the halogen ones in my '01 330xi (which weren't bi-xenon, so I got both the xenon low beam and the halogen high beam when on My halogen lights are h4 and the low beams are not on when the high beams are. If I want to wire a bi-xenon solenoid I will need to find some way of getting the light to stay on and have the solenoid open when the high beam is on. I have an idea that will work, but it involves a relay which means the lights will momentarily be off when I switch

2) HIDs have extra components - like a ballast. Those components are not present on halogen cars. So the HIDs are not just different bulbs. 3) In the Z4, like many other modern cars, the high and low beam bulbs on halogen cars are the same. They simply have different reflective sheilding around them.

However after approx 3 seconds, the high beam shutters close and return to low beams with a generic light warning on dash; all while stalk is still forward in “high beam on” position. Same scenario if I pull back and hold the stalk for intermittent high beam function. All the bulbs on the car work and are OEM.
